Member Service Representative (Part-time):

We have an opening for a part-time MSR in our Ben Lomond Branch. We are looking for a dynamic individual who values teamwork, collaboration and consistently provides excellent member service. Must be able to handle transactions accurately and communicate product and service features/benefits to members. Math, PC, and excellent customer service skills are a must. High School diploma or GED is required.

This position will work Monday through Friday, 12:30 PM to 5:30 PM.



Loan Services Specialist (Full-time), Capitola

Bay Federal Credit Union is looking for a dynamic, service-oriented team player to be a Loan Services Specialist. The Loan Services Specialist is responsible for servicing Bay Federal Credit Union loans in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Process member requests on their loan accounts, including but not limited to, due date changes, skip payments, automatic payments, payment coupons, and check reorders.
  • Process life, disability, GAP, and warranty insurance claims for members.
  • Process disbursements from members’ impound accounts in payment of property taxes, hazard insurance, flood insurance, and/or mortgage insurance.
  • Investigate and implement necessary corrections to credit bureau reporting data.
  • Provide support to other credit union employees in the resolution of technical and procedural issues related to the Core system and other lending systems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned including but not limited to special projects requiring extensive knowledge of Credit Union and department operations, policies and procedures and Safety/Compliance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required; a BA/BS is preferred.
  • Must have a complete understanding of common lending processes and terminology.
  • Minimum of 3 years financial institution experience with 1 year lending or loan servicing experience is required.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of all state and federal regulations that affect consumer and mortgage loan servicing.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint, and Internet/Intranet navigation skills are required.

Candidates should be open to flexible scheduling options and have the ability to adapt/change as needed.



Loan Underwriter (Full-time), Capitola

Bay Federal Credit Union is looking for a dynamic, service-oriented team player to be our Loan Underwriter. Within their authority in accordance with sound underwriting practices as set out in Credit Union policy, guidelines and procedures, the Loan Underwriter examines, evaluates, and authorizes or recommends approval of borrower’s applications for credit or extension of lines of credit secured by real property.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Underwrite consumer and residential mortgage loans in accordance with FHA, FNMA and internal credit union guidelines to ensure compliance with credit union and investor standards within their authority.
  • Perform all income analysis for qualifying self-employed borrowers. Comprehensive understanding of income tax documentation including but not limited to sole proprietorships, S-corps, C-corps, partnerships, and limited liability corporations is required.
  • Identify alternatives for loans that fall outside of the lending guidelines by demonstrating the ability to translate the underwriting guidelines with application of mitigating factors, when applicable, to ensure the loan is within the Credit Union’s risk tolerance and secondary market sales.
  • Responsible for final loan decision by verifying the member’s ability to repay the loan through analyzing credit, loan ratios, documented income, collateral and any compensating factors used in the loan decision.
  • Performs other duties as assigned including but not limited to special projects requiring extensive knowledge of Credit Union and department operations, policies and procedures and Safety/Compliance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • B.A. or B.S degree in Finance, Business, or other related field is required.
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in conventional and government loan underwriting.
  • Must be analytical with solid math and auditing skills and detail-oriented with excellent research and decision-making ability.
  • Must have current knowledge of regulations regarding consumer, mortgage, and business lending together with a strong working knowledge of FHA, FNMA, and FHLMC guidelines and standards.
  • Strong working knowledge of DU or other Automated Underwriting systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high volume work environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
