Bay Federal Coordinates "Extreme Makeover" of Easter Seals' Camp Harmon,
Summer Camp for People with Disabilities

Over 50 Bay Federal Credit Union employees and their families and friends worked in shifts over the weekend of May 2 and 3 to perform an "Extreme Makeover" on Camp Harmon in Boulder Creek. The camp, which is the home of the Easter Seala' summer camp for children and adults with physical and mental disabilities, was in great need of repair. With the support of local businesses and donations from Credit Union members, the “Extreme Makeover” Team cleaned up and painted cabins, art and drama areas, installed storage cabinets, and provided camp staff with more than $600 in donations to purchase supplies for campers.

Bruce Hinman, president of Easter Seals Central California, said, "With the help of Bay Federal employees, Camp Harmon is in great shape for campers this summer. The painting, building and cleanup conducted by these community-minded and generous people made the camp a clean and safe environment for campers to enjoy."

"Pulling together as a community to spruce up the camp was extremely gratifying for all of us who participated," said Bay Federal Marketing Coordinator, Cheryl Mayes. "For individuals with disabilities, a week at Camp Harmon may be one of the few times they can forget about their medical problems, and just have fun."

The area businesses that stepped forward to donate their time and money to support this effort were: Ben Lomond Market, Brett Lancaster Horseshoeing, General Feed & Seed, GreenWaste, Kelly-Moore Paints -Jack Teresi & Crew, Mission Linen Supply, Mountain Feed & Farm Supplies, and Storage Systems – John & Carolyn Goss.
