Online Banking Troubleshooting - Mac OS

Mac OS

Troubleshooting for PC/Windows.

If you are having trouble logging in to BayFedOnline, check the following:

  • Your computer must meet these minimum system requirements to work with our Online Banking System:
    • Mac OS 10.4, 10.5
    • Compatible browsers include Safari 2.0+, Firefox 2.0+ and Opera 9.0+.
    • See notes below if you have Mac OS 10.3
  • If your computer does not meet the minimum system requirements, please contact our Member Services team at 831.479.6000 or toll-free at 888-4BAYFED, option 3.
  • You must have Flash 9.0.124 or later installed. You can check your version of Flash at http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html.
  • If you are attempting to log in from your workplace, you may need to contact your technology or IT department to install the correct version of Flash.
  • Your login name and password must be a minimum of six characters long with at least one letter and one number, and not contain any of the following characters:
    • Asterisk and semi-colon: * and ;
    • Left and right angle brackets: < and >
    • Forward slash and backslash: / and \

If you have an older computer system, a PowerPC-based processor, and/or are running Mac OS 10.1 or 10.2, visit the following website to see if there is a version 9.0.124 or later of Flash available for your specific system:

Mac OS X 10.3 Notes

Safari under Mac OS X 10.3.9 and earlier is not compatible with Bay Federal's security enhancements. In this case, we recommend Firefox 2, Camino 1.6+, or Opera 9.0+.

Camino - http://caminobrowser.org/
Opera - http://www.opera.com/
Firefox - http://www.getfirefox.com/
Firefox 2.0.0.20 for Mac OS X 10.3.9 - http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/2.0.0.20/mac/en-US/ (direct link to download page).

If you are still having trouble, try the following:

If you are running Mac OS 10.3 and using Apple's Safari web browser, try downloading and installing the Firefox web browser. There are known issues with Safari and Mac OS 10.3. We recommend using Firefox with Mac OS 10.3.

To determine which Mac OS system and processor type you have:

From the Finder/Desktop, click on the Apple Menu and select "About this Mac". This will display the Mac OS Version Number and the Processor Type dialog box.
