Thank you for taking a moment to allow me to connect with you about your credit union’s response during this time of uncertainty related to the coronavirus (COVID-19). We are open for business and we are here for you to help you with your financial needs. We understand that access to your money is important to you and it’s one thing we don’t want you to worry about.
As always, our highest priority is making sure our members, employees, and the community feel safe when banking or interacting with Bay Federal. Rest assured that we have a robust and comprehensive Business Continuity Plan to handle any number of potential disruptions to Credit Union operations. Our Senior Leadership Team has been working diligently on scenarios to ensure that we can continue to serve and support our members, and keep our employees, their families, and the community we all care about as safe as possible.
What Bay Federal is Doing:
- We are ready to help you with your transactions and borrowing needs as always. If you are experiencing a financial hardship, please reach out to us.
- We have introduced ongoing rigorous cleaning procedures in all locations and we’ve provided supplies of cleaning materials like disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizers throughout our offices.
- We are taking sensible steps to help protect our team. This means fewer meetings and making it easier for our employees to take the time they need to care for themselves or their families in the event they are directly affected by COVID-19.
- We are taking action where we can to create containment of the virus with social distancing. We have initiated opportunities to work remotely for employees who are able to and we are making sure that employees who cannot work remotely have the support they need. Our goal is to provide the same level of care and service as we seek new ways of interacting with each other and with you.
While Bay Federal continues to practice social distancing as much as possible, we encourage you, our members, to take advantage of our comprehensive remote banking services. This is a perfect time to utilize our top-tier technology to conduct your banking from home! Almost all of the services we provide in our branches are also available through our mobile app, online banking, our website, or by phone, and cash can be obtained from an ATM or by using your debit card to get cash back from the store. If you don’t have a debit card, we can instantly issue you one at any of our branches.
As an additional precaution, we also encourage you to stay alert for suspicious email/text messages, phone calls, and fraudulent donation sites that may impersonate such organizations as a medical supply company, charity, or government agency claiming to be supporting efforts against the virus. As a reminder, a Bay Federal Credit Union representative will never contact you, without prompting, and ask you to verify your member number, full Social Security number, ATM, debit/credit card number, or any other personal financial information.
As we all move through these times of uncertainty, you can have confidence that Bay Federal will continue our mission of making a real difference and supporting you any way that we can. We are grateful to you for trusting us with your financial needs. If you need further assistance, do not hesitate to reach out to us by giving us a call at 831.479.6000 or 888.4BAYFED.
Sincerely,

Carrie L. Birkhofer, President & CEO
