Capitola, CA – April 22, 2016 – Bay Federal Credit Union was named one of the “Best Places to Work” in the Bay Area for the second straight year by the Silicon Valley Business Journal and San Francisco Business Times today.
Bay Federal was the sole financial institution and the only business from Santa Cruz County to be selected as one of the “Best Places to Work.” Just 125 companies out of 400 applicants made the list, which honors businesses that have exceptional workplaces and appreciate their employees.
“We are so honored to be recognized as a ‘Best Places to Work’ organization again,” said Carrie Birkhofer, President and CEO of Bay Federal. “A lot of thought and effort went into making our culture a rewarding one. Seeing employees across the company embrace our values of community, professionalism, and compassion is especially gratifying.”
Based on employee surveys conducted by Quantum Workplace, Bay Federal was ranked 22nd in the mid-sized company category (100-249 employees). It scored 90.22 points — 4.42 points away from first place.
Bay Federal was one of only two not-for-profits to make the list. The other was YMCA of San Francisco. The complete list of “Best Places to Work” in the Bay Area can be found here.
