Bay Federal Credit Union Welcomes Richard Roark as Vice President of Technology

Richard RoarkCapitola, CA – October 20, 2016 – Bay Federal Credit Union announced it has brought on Richard Roark as its new Vice President of Technology. His focus will be to continue to protect the Credit Union’s information assets in an ever-evolving technology landscape.

Mr. Roark will also work with other areas of the Credit Union to address future business needs and ensure the best possible banking experience for members through technology and innovation.

“Richard is a great asset to Bay Federal and its membership,” said Carrie Birkhofer, President and CEO. “He is a true expert in the field of information security, and the depth of his experience and knowledge has already added significant value to the organization. His collaborative style is a true benefit to our team.”

Mr. Roark previously was the Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Information Technology at Travis Credit Union, where he was employed for the past 20-plus years. During that time, he served as the VP of Information Technology, VP of Process Improvement and Network Security, and Assistant VP of Network Security and Operations. Travis Credit Union is located in Vacaville, CA.

“My experience as an IT leader in the credit union industry will allow me to make an immediate impact at Bay Federal,” Mr. Roark said. “Not to mention, the Santa Cruz area seems like a great place to live. My wife and I are excited about the move and integrating into the team and community.”

Mr. Roark completed a three-year program with the Credit Union Executives Society and has earned the Certified Chief Executive (CCE) designation. Mr. Roark earned this designation for having met high standards of credit union service as demonstrated by a dedication to ongoing professional development.
