Capitola, CA –November 25, 2019 – Bay Federal Credit Union is now accepting applications for its 2020 Education Scholarship contest. Up to three winners will each receive $1,500 to pay for post-secondary education expenses at any accredited college, university, trade/technical school, or career education program. The deadline for submissions is Saturday, February 1, 2020.
The scholarship application must be submitted with supplemental documents and an original essay on the following topic: What are the negative consequences of your spending choices? Describe an item you have purchased in the past twelve months, the potential or actual impacts of purchasing the item, and then explain what you plan to do to reduce these impacts. Additional instructions are available on the scholarship application.
Eligible applicants must have earned a high school diploma or GED certificate by August 1, 2020, and have a Membership Savings Account with Bay Federal Credit Union when submitting their applications. The application and additional information are available at www.bayfed.com/scholarship and at all Bay Federal Credit Union branches.

Over the past nine years, the Credit Union has awarded 40 scholarships totaling $41,000. Winners will be honored at the Credit Union’s annual meeting on March 31, 2020.
