Fun Dinosaur Websites
Learn Cool Facts About Dinosaurs on PBS Learning Media
PBS LearningMedia has educational videos, activities, and other learning resources for different ages and in different languages. This is a great resource for kids of all ages (pre-k to 100+).
Learn About Paleontology
at the American Museum of Natural History.
Paleontology is the study of ancient life, from dinosaurs to prehistoric plants, mammals, fish, insects, fungi, and even microbes. Fossils that preserve animals and plants that lived long ago tell us what our planet was like long ago and how living things and environments have changed over time.
Become a Junior Paleontologist!
at the National Parks Service website
Being a paleontologist can be fun and exciting! Download the Junior Paleontologist Activity Booklet from the National Parks Service to:
- Explore what paleontologists do and the ways they study ancient life.
- Learn about Earth's history, ancient plants and animals, and changes to past climate and environments.
- Protect and preserve national parks, including fossils and the rocks in which they are found, so that kids can see them in the future.
Is Indiana Jones a Paleontologist?
No. Indian Jones is a character from the Raiders of the Lost Ark films who is often mistaken for a paleontologist or an archaeologist. Paleontologists and archaeologists are trained never to steal fossils or human artifacts, so the Indiana Jones character is more of a tomb raider/adventurer.
Kids' Cash Giveaway Rules
The Kids' Cash Giveaway (“Giveaway") is open to all minor children who will be age 17 or younger OR who will celebrate their 17th birthday on or before April 30, 2021, and who are the primary/tax owner of a Bay Federal Credit Union Membership Savings Account* in good standing on or before April 30, 2021. While eligible children are encouraged to make a deposit at the Credit Union, no deposit or purchase is required to be eligible. This offer is void where prohibited by law.
In May, 2021, Bay Federal Credit Union will select up to fourteen (14) eligible winners; thirteen (13) winners will receive a $25 prize, and one (1) winner will receive $100.
Individual winners are eligible to win no more than one (1) of the prizes listed. If an individual is selected to win more than one prize, the greatest single prize amount will be awarded and all lesser amount(s) will be forfeited. Bay Federal Credit Union reserves the right to substitute a prize with another prize of equal value.
The prize amount awarded to each winner will be credited to the winner's Bay Federal Credit Union Membership Savings account. If a winner's Membership Savings Account is closed on the date winners are selected, the winner will forfeit the prize and Bay Federal Credit Union may select a different winner. The odds of winning will depend on the number of eligible Bay Federal Credit Union members on April 30, 2021.
*A “savings account in good standing” is one where no account owners (primary owners or joint owners) have caused Bay Federal Credit Union a financial loss of any amount.
