Remote Deposit Capture Changes in Eligibility
We have made adjustments to our eligibility requirements for Remote Deposit Capture, which provides the ability to deposit checks with your smartphone. While this service is now available to more of our members, we are aware that a few members may no longer have access to the service. We are actively working to restore access to as many eligible members as possible.
What is Remote Deposit Capture?
Remote Deposit Capture is a service for account holders that allows members to deposit a check into their Credit Union account from anywhere with cellular data connectivity by using the Bay Federal Credit Union BayFed Mobile app and a smart phone or other electronic device to take and send an Electronic Image of the item. It eliminates the need to deliver the paper item to the Credit Union.
How am I eligible for Remote Deposit Capture?
Members over the age of 18 are eligible for Remote Deposit Capture. There are some factors and restrictions that may apply. Please contact us for more information.
When I make a check deposit through Remote Deposit Capture, can I withdraw it right away?
Standard check holds still apply to remote deposits. You should always confirm that your remotely deposited checks have been credited to your account and are available for use before attempting to withdraw funds from your account, write checks against the funds, or schedule electronic payments from your account. Effective April 1, 2021, availability of mobile deposits is updated hourly with a minimum of $600 made available on the day of your deposit. Remaining funds will be available within two business days.
I just have a savings account. Can I make deposits using my phone?
Yes! You now have access to this convenient service.
I had access to Remote Deposit Capture in the past, and now I don’t. What happened?
We apologize for the inconvenience that this caused you. Remote Deposit Capture is a service that members must meet qualifying criteria in order to have access. We have recently made some changes to the eligibility requirements that may affect a few members’ access. We are working to address this and restore access to as many eligible members as possible.
