Logging In and Joining FAQs

Logging In FAQ

You may log in to BayFedOnline at the top of any page on this website. Click the blue button that says Log In to input your user name and password. Then click Log In Now.

To ensure the best possible online banking experience, we recommend testing your browser compatibility by clicking the blue button that says Log In and then selecting Test Your Browser. This will alert you to any potential conflicts.

How to log in for the first time:

At the top of this webpage, click Log In, and then select New User. Fill out the information requested on the next page to confirm your identity, and then select Complete Sign Up. You will then be able to Log In at the top of the page

You only need to register once! Your BayFedOnline and BayFed Mobile App username and password are the same.

To get started, you will need your social security number, Bay Federal member number, date of birth, mother's maiden name, and current contact information.

To register from a desktop computer, click on the blue Log In button at the top of any page on this website and then click New User.

To register on the BayFed Mobile App, download the app from Google Play or the App Store, launch the app and tap Sign Up in the bottom left corner.

For both BayFedOnline and the BayFed Mobile App, we will ask to verify your computer or device for security. To do this, you will be asked to enter a one-time verification code the first time you log in on a new computer, or to confirm your identity via phone call or text message. You will have the opportunity to select which method works best for you.

If you are registering from a computer that you use often, you may bypass this step in future log ins by selecting This is my private computer. This will keep you from having to use future verification codes. If you select This is a public computer, you will be prompted to get a new verification code for future sessions when you log in.

Please note that if your device is connected to the Internet at an unfamiliar location, or if your computer's tracking information (i.e. cookies) was recently cleared, you may need to repeat the process.

Please make sure that you are using the verification code and not your temporary password. These verification codes can only be used once and expire after 10 minutes. If it has been longer than 10 minutes, you will need to logout and log back in to get a new verification code sent to you.

If these options still do not work, please call our Member Service Center at 831.479.6000 or 888.4BAYFED, option 3.

You can logout and log back in to have the verification code texted to your mobile device or emailed to you. If you do not have an additional phone number or email address on file, you can contact our Member Service Center at 831.479.6000 or 888.4BAYFED, option 3.

To remove computers and devices from your profile, please contact a Member Service Representative at 831.479.6000 or 888.4BAYFED, option 3.

Please be aware that this process will remove all of your devices from your profile. You will then need to validate new devices by receiving a verification code next time you log in.

If you are unable to log in:

  1. Access the Bay Federal homepage.
  2. Select Log In.
  3. Select Forgot Login.
  4. Enter the phone number linked to your accounts and your username.
  5. Select Send me a new password.
  6. To gain access to online banking you must have a new password sent via text message to a registered phone number.

Before Touch ID or Face ID can be used, you must setup the mobile or tablet device with your fingerprint or facial recognition. You can use Touch ID with iPhone 5s and newer, and Android devices with fingerprint scanning capabilities.

How to set Touch ID up:

  1. Navigate to Settings -> General -> Passcode & Fingerprint
  2. Select Turn Passcode On and enter a four-digit passcode twice
  3. Select Fingerprints -> Add a fingerprint
  4. Follow instructions given on your device

Additional fingerprints can be added to the Touch ID system by repeating the process above. However in conjunction with our mobile apps, you can only enable one fingerprint per device.

You will still be prompted to enter your password to make changes to password & fingerprint settings.

    In a branch:

Your first step is to open your new checking account at a Bay Federal Credit Union branch and then to either write a check for the balance of your other account (minus any amount you need to cover any checks or electronic payments that may not have cleared), or to deposit cash into the new account.

Please note a check will have to clear before the funds will be available in your new checking account.

Next, start using your new Bay Federal account and transfer any electronic payments that were scheduled to come out of your old account. When you have received your new Bay Federal Visa Debit Card and you are sure that all checks and payments have cleared your old account, you can close that account.

    Online:

If you wish to open a new checking account online, you may auto-fund the account with up to $25,000 from an existing account at Bay Federal or another financial institution during the application process. Apply now.
