Carrie L. Birkhofer, President and Chief Executive Officer | Bay Federal Credit UnionCarrie has more than 30 years of experience in the credit union industry, starting her career as an Auditor for O’Rourke Sacher and Moulten (later sold to McGladrey). Carrie joined the Credit Union 26 years ago as the CFO and has held the title of President and CEO for the past 20 years. Under Carrie’s leadership the Credit Union has carefully grown from $70 million to well over $700 million in assets. As the Chief Executive Officer, she works with the Senior Leadership Team and the Volunteer Board of Directors to set and drive the vision and mission for the Credit Union, to ensure the strategic vision is upheld, and the member and employee experience is forefront in the Credit Union’s actions.

Carrie graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Economics from University of California, Santa Barbara and is a Certified Public Accountant. She is a 1998 graduate of the CUES CEO Institute, holding the Certified Credit Union Executive designation. Carrie contributes to the future of credit unions through national involvement with regulatory and governance activities, and is a key member of our community. Carrie is past President of Scotts Valley Rotary Club, past President of the local community Cabrillo College Foundation, Secretary of the Fiserv/Open Solutions Client Association and Vice Chair of the CUNA Community Credit Union Committee. She lives in Santa Cruz with her three children and loves to walk with her dog on West Cliff, read novels, and travel.

Cameron Haste, Executive Vice President, Chief Operations Officer

Cameron Haste, Executive Vice President, Chief Operations Officer | Bay Federal Credit UnionCameron was relocated to the Central Coast by Bay Federal in 1999. Prior to joining the Credit Union, he worked at regional and national banks and is excited to apply his experience at a locally owned financial cooperative. As a member of the Executive Team, Cameron partners closely with the CEO, EVP/CDO, and Board of Directors to ensure an alignment of strategy, objectives, and priorities. He is responsible for the business performance and leadership of member-facing channels, including: branches, consumer and mortgage lending, card products, electronic banking and investment services. Cameron focuses on creating a collaborative work environment in order to achieve results and deliver excellent service.
Cameron is active in the community and supports a number of causes important to him. He currently sits on the Board of Directors for Hope Rehabilitation Services and the Measure O Bond Oversight. He is also a member of the San Lorenzo Valley Rotary Club. Cameron studied at California State University, Dominguez Hills, and earned a bachelor’s degree in International Business. In addition, he is a graduate of the CUES CEO Institute and holds the designation of Certified Credit Union Executive. Cameron enjoys extreme travel experiences and spending time with his two children.

Tonée Picard, Executive Vice President, Chief Development Officer

Tonée PicardTonée joined the Credit Union in 2006. Prior to joining the Credit Union, she worked for 12 years as an executive in the software industry. Tonée provides leadership and is responsible for all activities that directly impact the brand and culture of the Credit Union. As a member of the Executive Team, Tonée is responsible for strategic planning, marketing, human resources, technology initiatives, financial education, project and program development, community and member engagement, organizational development, employee training, and management team leadership and education. In her role, she partners with the CEO, EVP/COO and Board of Directors to ensure her departments support of all channel operations and the member experience.

Tonée has an MBA from Golden Gate University, is a graduate of CUES CEO Institute and earned the Certified Credit Union Executive designation. She also has a certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resource Professional (SPHR). Tonée currently serves on the United Way of Santa Cruz as Board President, Second Harvest Food Bank Board Development Committee, Palo Alto Medical and Sutter Hospital Community Board, and SC Business Council Board. Tonée travels annually to visit family in Europe and shares her life with her husband of 25 years and three pups.
